International Village is a residence exclusively for students from around the world, attending the International Education Programs at UCR since 2001. Partnering with the University of California, Riverside, International Village is a co-educational housing complex, where students can live, study and socialize with the UCR community.

Enjoy amenities including: a basketball court, soccer field, fitness center, game room and music room with piano. The property has five full time Resident Advisors available 24 hours a day, as well as a Resident Life Coordinator and other support staff for residents. There are variety of resident programs, group trips and other community events provided throughout the calendar year. Bedroom styles available are single or double occupancy rooms in a two, three or five bedroom suite.

How do I check-in?

If you arrive during business hours (Monday-Friday: 8am-5pm) you can check-in at the International Village Front Desk. For arrivals after business hours, please call the Community
Advisor on duty (951-333-1174) for assistance. We understand arrival times can be unpredictable so we accept check-ins at all hours.

Please have your Confirmation Letter and Passport ready.

Can I check-in early?

Unfortunately we do not accept early check-ins due to insurance reasons, but we will be happy to assist in making alternative arrangements. Please contact our office for further information.

Can I check- in late?

Yes, with advance notice.

What is the Damage Deposit for?

The damage deposit is for cleaning and damages to the unit.  The deposit is refundable after move out minus cleaning and/or damage fees.

What is the cancellation policy?

Contracts may be cancelled up to one day before the lease start date, cancellation fees may apply.  Please see contract for additional details.

How do I arrange for airport transportation?

Will I have a roommate?

Depending on your occupancy style, you may have a roommate (in the same room) or house mate (in the same apartment).

If you have a roommate preference or request, please note it on your IV Housing Application and we will do our best to accommodate.

What is there to do in Riverside?

The Extension Center has weekly events and trips scheduled for all UCR Extension students, Examples: trip to the beach/Los Angeles, hikes, amusement parks, etc. The IV Resident Advisors have several monthly events for IV residents only.

The main UCR campus has weekly events, which all UCR and UCR Extension student are welcome to attend. Also, Downtown Riverside has shops, museums, restaurants, and other attractions to enjoy.

How safe is IV?

While it is impossible for anyone to guarantee safety and security anywhere, International Village has implemented many programs to help ensure students’ safety and demonstrate our commitment to students’ well-being. IV is patrolled 24 hours a day by UCR Police Department and Extension Center Parking and Safety. Community Advisor conduct duty walks twice daily ensuring everything is in order as well as all buildings are locked and secured. Buildings are accessible by keycard access only.

University also offers a service called UCR Campus Safety Escort Service that is available Sunday to Thursday from sun down to 11:00 pm. This service allows you to request an escort from anywhere on campus to IV. They can be reached at (951) 827-3772.

What to do if I lost my keycard?

We take security seriously. Please report to the front desk immediately. We will issue you a new keycard and deactivate the lost card.

Am I allowed to have pets?

Pets ARE NOT permitted, excepting fish in a 30 gallon or less aquarium. Breach of this provision will result in a non-negotiable fee for fumigation services in addition to any appropriate cleaning or repair charges deemed necessary. Keeping a pet is grounds for immediate eviction.

How can I shop for items/supplies/food needed?

The Extension Center offers a bi-weekly shuttle to local stores. The shuttle will drive you to the store and drive you back to IV. There is also a bike share program at IV where you can rent a bike for short trips.
